LOFAR serveru aprīkojums no Nīderlandes radioastronomijas institūta ASTRON dodas uz Latviju. Skaties video, ko sagatavojuši ASTRON zemāk.
LOFAR stacijas izveide nesīs gan Ventspils Starptautiskajam Radioastronomijas centram, gan Latvijai jaunas zinātniskās iespējas ne tikai radioastronomijas sfērā, bet arī informācijas un komunikācijas tehnoloģijās, ģeofizikā, ģeodēzijā, vides inženierijā un bioekonomikā.
