Ventspils University of Applied Sciences (Reg. Nr. 90000362426, address: Inženieru iela 101, Ventspils) announces application for the position of Ventspils University of Applied Sciences expert research project on commercialization issues (employment contract for a definite period until November 30, 2023, within the framework of the project No.1.1.1.5/18/A/019 “Further development of the institutional and scientific capacity of the VIRAC”).

We are looking for people who have work experience in the private sector in managing national and international projects, developing new and innovative business ideas and implementing products. The vacancy is related to the development and implementation of a commercialization strategy, the promotion of new, innovative products in the European market and the development of new companies.

To develop start-ups and promote the commercialization of their products, it will be necessary not only to participate as a visitor in local and international exhibitions/conferences but also to present them to talk about the products/services created by start-ups, trying to attract both customers and investors.

Individual qualification and skill requirements specified for the position:

• degree in business administration or equivalent);
• at least 5 years of experience in an active business, technology and/or research management position;
• at least 3 years of experience in developing and marketing new products;
• experience in setting up and developing a technology start-up will be considered an advantage;
• experience in product commercialization strategy development, implementation and control;
• experience in employee management and time/work planning;
• experience in attracting and absorbing both private and public funding;
• experience in working with "seed capital" and venture capital investors;
• excellent sales and persuasion skills;
• ability to motivate the team to achieve the set results;
• participation in business pre-incubator and incubator cycles will be considered an advantage;
• excellent English and good Russian language skills in writing and speaking;
• skills of an experienced computer user (MS Office), as well as skills in working with office equipment;
• understanding of the public procurement process and the basis of regulatory enactments, and skills to use it for the implementation of procurement procedures performed in the project;
• understanding of the basic principles of accounting, personnel management and financial management;
• excellent initiator, collaborative and organizational skills;
• accuracy and high sense of responsibility;
• ability to set priorities and plan their daily work;
• B category driving license.

The range of gross monthly salary of the respective position is planned following the Law on Remuneration of Officials and Employees of State and Local Government Institutions, as well as Cabinet Regulation No. 1075 of 30 November 2010 “Catalog of Positions of State and Local Government Institutions”, not exceeding EUR 1917.00 per month before taxes payments, assessing the individual qualification and skills of the particular person.
