At the moment, a rather expressive and typical bipolar active region, which has been given the sequence number NOAA 12773, can be seen on the Sun.
From 22-25 September Ventspils International Radio Astronomy Centre leading researcher Dmitrijs Bezrukovs with a telesopce RT-32 carried out microwave observations of the Sun in a wide range of wavelenghts which showed the movements and development of the active region these days.
Observations of the Sun active regions in a wide range of wavelengths are necessary to analyse and study the phenomena, causes and regularities of activity occuring in the Sun's Corona, as well as to predict the potential effects of the Sun on Earth.
